Hello! My name is Ren, and I use any pronouns at the current moment. I'm a 2006 kid, and my birthday is in April. My interests revolve around computers, nature, photography and cats.
I enjoy doing practically anything around computers, be it programming, tinkering with hardware, ricing, or even breaking something. My first exposure to the wonderful world of computing (and gaming) was around 2009, with my first game I've "played" being World of Goo. Linux has been prevalent for majority of my life, and I still prefer using it, as opposed to other operating systems. I've slowly been learning how to write code over the past 5 years, I haven't written anything of value yet but I hope that will change in the future. For a very short amount of time, I've created themes for a custom Discord client called Vendetta - a minor contribution. I don't see myself as a gamer, as most modern games are blegh and my hardware isn't ideal (macOS), but I recently got into Pokemon ROM Hacks. Currently playing Pokemon Unbound, really engaging considering I've never played Pokemon before.
Though it's been a while since I've properly enjoyed the outside, due to schoolwork and bad weather, I really enjoy going on walks around the city. During summer '23, I've learned how to longboard, and I've skated once or twice with friends since. As with computers, I was also exposed to biking/cycling at a young age, my grandparents and I used to cycle to the nearby forest almost every day. I enjoy the feeling of going nowhere for hours, and dread coming back home. I've been wanting to learn to rollerblade but haven't gotten a chance yet due to bad weather.
I may not own a cat, but I'm obsessed with them to death. I would sell my soul to have a dumb orange floofball by my side. Words cannot describe how much I love cats - if I see a feline walking down the street, there's no chance I'll ignore it.
I have a very peculiar music taste. I like listening to normal genres like jazz, pop, indie, but I tend to indulge in experimental music more than anything. Since my taste is fluid, it can range from aggressive breakcore and techno to calm ambience noises. I am open to listening to other genres, I need some variety. For underground music, I use SoundCloud, for everything else - Spotify. I am somewhat normal after all.
As far as bookreading goes, I've read some books last year (namely README.txt by Chelsea Manning and No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai) and recently started reading Dune. I don't consider myself as a bookworm, however when my mind isn't occupied by anything I tend to turn to books. I carry an old Kindle Touch to satisfy my needs.
I don't use social media a lot. Though, if you want to contact me:
Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter - don't have that. Sorry.
